Giles, Giles & Fripp — whose name always sounded more like an accounting firm than a rock group — only existed for a little more than 15 months. They never got to play a single live performance under their own name, never charted a single anywhere in the world, and were so obscure in their own time and their own country that the one album that they recorded for English Decca Records' Deram label sold only 600 copies. But out of that trio grew the band that became King Crimson.

Gnidrolog are one of the more overlooked bands that took part in the progressive rock explosion in Britain around 1971-73. Their music was powerful, full-blown progressive rock with an dark, original feel. The best comparisons would be to groups like Van der Graaf Generator, Jethro Tull and Gentle Giant, and Gnidrolog often meets the same level of brilliance as those bands. Gnidrolog recently reformed and put out a new studio album, Gnosis, which has gotten some good reviews.

Gong slowly came together in the late '60s when Australian guitarist Daevid Allen (ex-Soft Machine) began making music with his wife, singer Gilli Smyth, along with a shifting lineup of supporting musicians.
Band's mythology of the peaceful Planet Gong populated by Radio Gnomes, Pothead Pixies, and Octave Doctors along with Zero the Hero are the focus of Gong's 70's albums.
After You, Allen, Hillage, and Smyth left the group and guitarist Allen Holdsworth joined the band drifted into virtuosic if unimaginative jazz fusion.

Dave Greenslade and Tony Reeves from Colosseum formed Greenslade in 1972. Their self-titled album was released the following year. Greenslade was a considerably prolific band, they released four albums in two years. The band broke up in early 1976. A different lineup of the band made a brief attempt at it in 1977, but it just didn't work, however 23 years later in the year 2000, the group re-formed to begin another journey through their style of progressive rock.
